Have you ever wondered why Coke comes with a smile? It’s because it gets you high. They took the cocaine out almost a hundred years ago. You know why? It was redundant.
- In The First 10 minutes: 10 teaspoons of sugar hit your system. (100% of your recommended daily intake.) You don’t immediately vomit from the overwhelming sweetness because phosphoric acid cuts the flavor allowing you to keep it down.
- 20 minutes: Your blood sugar spikes, causing an insulin burst. Your liver responds to this by turning any sugar it can get its hands on into fat. (There’s plenty of that at this particular moment)
- 40 minutes: Caffeine absorption is complete. Your pupils dialate, your blood pressure rises, as a response your livers dumps more sugar into your bloodstream. The adenosine receptors in your brain are now blocked preventing drowsiness.

I don’t drink coke that much but I think I’m getting the same effect from my morning pot of coffee with tons of sugar in it. lol

wow. but wait, how come i never get hyper, happy or that ‘elated’ feeling like people say they do. i tried coke as a remedy for staying awake in the morning and it has never worked!

we finally were able to get the coke machines taken OUT of the dormitories at our schools. CAN YOU IMAGINE? OUR HIGH SCHOOL KIDS HAD access to coke and other sodas up until 11pm. it is no wonder we had behavior problems and problems getting them to bed and REVOLTS when they couldn’t get their fix. They would punch the machines out if they stole their money without getting their soda. Now we have sugary Juices. Progreess not perfection.
