this is beyond ridiculous. so now we get dictated on what we teach? aldous huxley and george orwell would be proud of their big brother. and i don’t know anyone who believes that jihad is a holy war that involves bloodshed. well for me anyway, it’s a personal inner struggle with the mind and the devil inside. this is ludicrous.
didn’t europeans found the US on bloodshed? isn’t that a part of their history. how come that isn’t removed from their books? or have they somehow glorified that? and that picture of the catapult is hilarious. yeah. we use it on a daily basis. every one can go buy it from their local hardware store.

In accordance with his last wishes, Hunter S Thompson’s ashes will be sent into the sky in 34 fireworks mortar tubes, and Johnny Depp is paying the $2 million the ceremony will cost:
Hunter S. Thompson’s cremated remains, mixed with fireworks and packed into 34 mortar tubes, were en route to Woody Creek Wednesday. The unusual shipment from New Castle, Pa., via padlocked truck is one of the final steps towards a funeral Saturday expected to mix solemnity with pageantry.

it’s nothing overly insightful or shocking, but it’s from a group that would typically be described as conservative - and this type of thing seems to be an anomally these days from that camp. enjoy.
thanks kevin.

when will north american’s realize that placing a tea bag into a mug (not cup) of water that was once somewhat hot and now barely warm will somehow combine together to make a drinkable cup of tea. (boiling water is key, hot water makes a bitter, weak cup). making a cup of tea is an art. and making a good cup of tea is one more on the list of things that north americans will never accomplish.
this is the BBC’s take on making the perfect cup.
george orwell also explains how to make a nice cup of tea.

you know how i spoke earlier about DRM, academic textbooks and a lot of headaches? well seems like this arizona school got what it wanted. they’ve removed all printed textbooks from the school and has provided each of its students with iBooks.

what a movie. if you enjoy a good, (dirty) laugh, you have to go see the aristocrats. one of the funniest documentaries i’ve ever seen. not meant for the weak hearted, or easily offended though. it is extremely vulgar and bawdy. hence, i recommend not going with spouses, girlfriends or anyone who can’t say “i just took a great shit on the crapper a few minutes ago”, in public. it stars 75 comedians from anyone who’s everyone in the comedy scene; bob saget to whoopi goldberg, , stephen wright, robin williams, hank azaria, drew carey, kevin pollack, jason alexander, carrie fischer and my favourite, gilbert gottfried…plus many, many more. a must watch. oh yeah, kevin pollack also does the best christopher walken impersonation i’ve ever seen. though probably also the only chris walken impersonation i’ve ever seen.
oh speaking of documentaries, do check out the march of the penguins if you get a chance as well. it is now the second most successful french film of all time, only second to the fifth element which was directed by one of my favourite directors, luc besson. TMotP is up there in the leagues of david attenborough and his living planet stuff.

i have always been a big advocate of not using IE and using other alternate web browsers. now you have a reason not to use IE.
if you are stuck with no other alternative, and are asking what else you can use. give firefox a shot. trust me, you won’t ever turn back. spread the word on your site about it.

what the hell does that mean anyway? which also reminds me of the punk manifesto written by greg gaffin, that i found back when there was very little internet. that’s horrible english isn’t it? anyway, coming back to the point, the punk has once again done a lovely summary of something pakistani. this time, it’s a traditional wedding. he does especially well in describing bhangra dancing.
