Missing Mary Road

awwww

aren’t these big, rich corporations so sweet. awwww. they’re so generous and loving. i wish the whole world would be as nice.

my favourites.

Ford Motor Credit Company is offering customers affected by Hurricane Katrina the opportunity to defer up to two vehicle payments. (read as: we can always screw them later)

Culligan will send five truckloads of drinking water. (err…yeah…that’ll last a total of forty minutes?)

i can’t believe this. some of these companies have DAILY profits that are more than what they are helping out with. i suppose every little helps. here’s a refresher for anyone about the richest companies in the world.

Exxon will give $2M to the redcross and $5M in grants to local relief agencies. they make $270,772M a year in revenue. they make $740M a day.

Walmart will give $1M to the salvation army. they make $287,989M a year in revenue. they make $789M a day.

BP is giving $1M to the red cross. they make $285,059M a year in revenue. they make $780M a day.

GM is donating $0.4M to the Red Cross and is matching $0.25M in employee donations. they make $193,517 a year. they make $530M a day.

I could go on and on.

here’s the rest of the list.

“The Gideons International are sending 40,000 Personal Witnessing Testaments (New Testament, Psalms, Proverbs) to be distributed at the Astrodome and other relief centers in Houston. The scriptures are on a truck due to arrive Sunday by 10 a.m. and we are planning shifts to provide patoral care 24/7. God is at work, and we are called by Him to Serve His Will. There was a purpose for Katrina, let us not fail to fulfill our duties.”
