riya

okay so i’ve spent the better part of my day alpha-testing riya. it’s a company co-founded by a buddy of mine and the software they have produced is remarkable. it allows you to search your photos by the people in them, not by the filename. it learns who the people in pictures are and eventually recognizes them and automatically tags them. after uploading a dataset of about 2500 pictures last night, i spent about a half hour training the software and now it’s returning results with close to 85% accuracy. i love it. techcrunch does a great review of riya. the software is named after my buddy’s daughter who was born recently. i can’t wait to meet her. try and get on the testing team as soon as possible. you won’t be disappointed.
